Couples Ministry

Healthy and Prosperous Marriages

Leaders: Michael Samuda and Susan Samuda

What is the Couples’ Ministry?

The ministry is where married and engaged couples at Praise Cathedral come together to strengthen their relationships, deepen their faith, and build meaningful friendships with other couples in our church family.
We believe that your marriage matters and it’s something worth investing in, celebrating, and growing through.

Meet the Leaders

Michael Samuda and Susan Samuda have been attending Praise Cathedral since 2010. They have been married since 1997 and have one son. The Samudas genuinely believe that marriage is one of God’s greatest gifts (it’s worth celebrating, investing in, and growing together within). Their heart is to create an environment where couples feel safe, motivated, valued, and inspired to love God, love each other, and build community while fostering healthy and prosperous marriages.

The Ministry’s Three Pillars

  • Faith:
    We explore what the Bible says about marriage and commitment.
  • Connection
    We create an environment where couples can be real, be heard, and feel known.
  • Growth
    We learn to love better and grow stronger in our marriage.

Who should come

  • Married couples of any duration (newlyweds, not so newlyweds);
  • Engaged couples preparing for marriage;
  • Couples in any life season (young families, empty nesters, retired, etc.);
  • Couples who are thriving and couples who are working through challenges.

What to Expect

  • Fun events
    Pure joy, laughter, and connection with other couples
  • Faith events
    Deeper faith in Jesus Christ
  • Practical events
    Learning skills and tools to strengthen our marriage

What you won’t experience here

  • Judgment: We don’t judge marriages or relationships;
  • Pressure: You’re never put on the spot to share if you don’t want to;
  • Gossip: What’s shared here stays here. Confidentiality is sacred;
  • Perfection: We’re real people with real struggles, and that’s okay;
  • Marriage counselling: If you need professional help, we’ll point you there.

The vibe

Relaxing, welcoming, warm, encouraging, fun.
